Seven Health Benefits of Beer

Today we are going to talk a bout the health benefits of beer. We will preface the article by saying that this is with low to moderate drinking. If you drink to excess then beer isn’t good for but you already know that ?.

1. Beer is good for your heart

There have been several medical studies that indicate beer can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. The explanation is beer causes a thinning effect on your blood thus reducing the chances of clots forming.

If you reduce the chances of a blood clot then you less likely to get a blockage of your coronary artery.

2. Beer can help boost your mental health

Drinking beer can increase the amount of dopamine in your brain which makes you feel more relaxed and calmer. Also, studies claim beer can protect your brain from neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

3. Beer can lower your chances of developing kidney stones

One study showed that drinking a bottle of beer every day can reduce the risk of developing kidney stones by up to 40%. Beer contains magnesium and potassium as a result it can help prevent the development of kidney stones.

4. Beer is good for your health a skin and hair

There are vitamins in your beer which are preventative and corrective source for acne. Furthermore, it is thought that hops and malt can promote healthy growth of hair.

5. Beer is rich in fiber

Everyone needs to intake fibers, sugar and starches to be healthy. Beer has all three as a matter of course. Fibers can be quite slow/hard in digestion however; they do stimulate the intestinal peristalsis. When you drink beer, it provides fibre content to your body when consumed.

6. Beer could improve your cholesterol

In 2016 a medical presentation by the American Heart Association sessions presented a study involving 80,000 healthy Chinese adults. It stated that moderate drinking could be associated with a slower decrease in good cholesterol over time.

7. Beer could reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes

There have been several studies linking moderate alcohol intake with a 30% reduced risk of Type 2 diabetes compared to not drinking or excessive drinking.

Conclusions

Drinking beer can have several health benefits as you can see the in the 7 facts above. The heath benefits are from low to moderate drinking.

Drinking too much will negate these benefits and will actually impact your health negatively. Please note that women absorb 30% more alcohol then men when drinking the same amount.

Don’t drink everyday and spread out your drinking; having maximum one or two a day when you do. Binge drinking (4 or more in 2 hours) isn’t good for anyone.
